Draconian zappeel

Description:  One of the oddball fish living on draconine, it is similar to the draconian electric eel, although this is a true eel rather than a knifefish.  They live in the deeper lakes and deep reefs in salt water environments where their stalk like structures send off tiny electrical pulses, trying to detect any prey nearby.  Once a prey is found, the zappeel will slowly follow the animal and once it is close enough, it will send a powerful concentrated blast from its mouth and usually kills the prey in one shot.  The zap is powerful enough to kill a 5 meter long mosasaur and they also can release a less powerful electrical burst that can travel farther.  This blast can be used to avoid predation by mosasaur and sharks as well as they can kill schools of fish and engulf the stunned fish.  These fish live alone although juveniles live in small packs where they use their electric abilities to corral and execute prey.  They live around 59 years.
